Lance Spencer, an expert in Production & Operational (Re)Structuring and an executive who knows how to build great performing teams was asked to accept an assignment on the “North Slope.”  He did not flinch.  Within a few days he had mapped out a revised execution plan and agreed to marshal it for his company. Because of his expertise, he received a call from the company’s North Sea Operations President asking if he was available and if might accept a transfer to the United Kingdom. Going in, Lance knew that over a dozen other highly qualified internal and external candidates had declined this opportunity because the Company set incredibly aggressive targets and short timeline for the turnaround.

He rolled up his sleeves, as he had done many times before and reshuffled the organization, right sized the performance and business units processes to improve efficiency and profitability, implemented a new organizational management and operation strategy and instituted more effective operations planning, engineering, project management, budgeting, forecasting, supply chain, contractor and subcontractor management processes and systems.  

Within two years the company was able to divest many of these assets.  The new processes and systems were well embedded, and the Business Units were operating in the “Black” again – netting the company considerable returns in the billions. What is even more amazing is that the story didn’t end there.  Lance went on to deliver similar substantial financial results by implementing changes throughout the company in assets around the world – Norway, Russia, Egypt, Trinidad, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Angola, Canada, US – Land, US Continental Shelf, and US Deepwater. He has a longstanding reputation for delivering repeatable performance results and financial returns domestically and internationally. Others have often said that if you want a leader you can depend upon Lance won’t miss the target.
