In this special résumé-themed podcast, Fred Coon, executive recruiter and CEO of Stewart, Cooper & Coon, Podcast - Resumediscusses some of the very important and frequently asked questions regarding resume-writing, such as:

How should a quality resume be organized? Should a resume open with a summary or an objective? What are the benefits of a reverse-chronological resume? Which formats are most easily digested by ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems)?

Fred Coon interviews career, resume expert, and founder of Resumes that Shine, Frank Grossman, on these questions and many more.

About the Guest:

Frank Grossman’s passion is to help job candidates create résumés that shine and LinkedIn profiles that glow. He has operated Résumés that Shine since 2004, and has served as a staff member and consultant to publicly-funded employment programs since 1998.Frank Grossman

He learned his résumé writing craft at PROS, a program for downsized professionals and executives. Frank then joined WeCARE, where he created and operated the résumé writing program. Frank critiqued, edited or wrote thousands of résumés, led résumé writing classes and established guidelines for other staff members to follow when writing participant résumés. Hundreds of participants landed jobs after attending Frank’s classes or using résumés that he created with them.

His employment programs have made a positive impact at — in addition to PROS and WeCARE — Associated Services for the Blind (ASB) in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Unemployment Project (PUP) in Philadelphia. Frank met two-thirds of a two-year employment goal in less than one year at ASB.

Today, he leads the Job Club program at PUP in addition to his work with résumé writing and LinkedIn profile writing clients at Résumés that Shine.

Frank’s expertise is not limited to one population of clients. He has helped downsize professionals and executives, candidates with significant employment gaps, people with disabilities, ex-offenders, and job candidates with his anecdotes of substance abuse, mental health conditions, homelessness, and domestic violence. Clients have benefited from Frank’s classes in résumé writing, job search strategy, professional networking, and internet job search, among other things.

Frank works with clients regardless of professional level, to upgrade their job search communications strategies.
