Valerie says that through coaching, the definition of resiliency is extended to “not only dealing with and moving beyond an immediate stressor, but to also leveraging opportunities for growth that emerge. This has been defined as ‘post-traumatic growth’ by many in the coaching field.”

“Resiliency is important for both individuals and corporations,” Valerie explained. “Through resiliency coaching, individuals develop the ability to move forward quickly and effectively. Likewise, when an organization is resilient, its people are more engaged and productive. This is a win-win.”

“Face it, we live in a demanding, constantly changing world and it’s easy for people to become stuck. Resiliency coaching helps people develop thinking and behaviors to enable them to be agile in adapting to change and in overcoming the obstacles that life continuously throws at them.

“By the way, a good resilience coach should not only help you return to the status quo, but to also use the opportunity to grow further in your personal and professional development,” Valerie said.
